Ruby McShane lives in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Reed College in 2022 where she majored in Studio Art with a focus on photography. She uses photography to explore identity and consider ways of being seen and unseen, striving to depict underrepresented people, experiences, and feelings using digital and analog photography and experimental collage techniques.


In 2016, three of her photos were selected to be displayed in the Newspace Center For Photography’s exhibition "On Democracy.” In 2021, three of her photos were selected for inclusion in Small Talk Collective’s digital group show Light Conversation: Vol. 2.


She has most recently worked in visitor services for PICA’s TBA Festival, AUXART’s To The River installation, and PAM CUT’s Symbiosis exhibition.
